LK Hjelle - Ada

The Ada chair was designed by my friend Jonas Stokke and I was happy to work alongside him throughout the project, with the CAD development, making sure all details came through to production. The result is a comfortable and delicate chair that feels voluptuous and welcoming, while still petite. A truly timeless piece of furniture.

LK Hjelle is a family-owned manufacturer that has been producing furniture in Sykkylven since Lars Karl Hjelle founded the original factory in 1940. Today the brand is run by his grandson Dag Hjelle. The factory is located in the picturesque Norwegian fjord village of Sykkylven.

The chair, like all Hjelle products, is produced locally. The steel and wood come from neighbouring factories. Even the textiles are woven at Innvik.
